At Market

Although I couldn't make it to Quilt Market in Houston, I'm happy to say that I have 3 different quilts on display there.

Last week, I did a super fast quilt for Camelot Fabrics to showcase their new Mixology Fabric Line.  Here it is before I shipped it off overnight to Houston.

Isn't it really really cute?  Hopefully, they'll send me a couple photos of the quilt in their booth so I can show it off some more.  This design is actually an update of a design I did for them last year, called Spare Change.  I checked the website but it's not available as a free download anymore.  :(

Some of My Favorite Things Part 2

Okay, here are some more of my favorite finds at Quilt Market (in no particular order):

Camelot Fabrics

I made four quilt samples featuring fabrics from some of their new collections.  It was sew fun to see my quilts displayed so beautifully at their booth!  Here are three of them.

 Cloud 9 Fabrics

I stopped by Cloud 9 to see the quilts my friend, Linda, made to showcase their new fabrics.  Here are a few of Linda's awesome quilts!  Some of them she designs and makes and others she only makes the tops.

 Riley Blake Fabrics

What can I say?  I just love Riley Blake fabrics.  Their vibe is sew sew me.

Angela Walters and Christa Watson

I had the opportunity to see both Angela and Christa in action -- what fun!  I loved how they played off of each other -- Angela on the long arm and Christa on the sit down machine.  Their book will be a great resource for my own free motion quilting.   Methinks also great find for quilt shops -- perfect for FMQ classes!

Little House of Quilts

When I was a child, I wanted to be Laura Ingalls.  Here's a sweet sweet book just right for all of your "prairie" fabrics!  Would be a great book for a quilt shop to feature all of those dainty calicoes that people love but don't know what to do with.

Back From Quilt Market!

OH MY GOODNESS!

I've been home about a week from Fall Quilt Market in Houston.

Quilt Market was wonderful......exciting.......overwhelming.......

It's amazing.  I spend months getting myself ready for Market.  Making appointments.  Making quilt samples or demos.  Making travel and hotel accommodations.  Whew!  I'm getting tired again just thinking about it.  LOL!

BUT it's all sew sew worth it when you get to the Convention Center and walk into that gigantic Quilt Market Floor.  The only problem is that it's sensory overload.

I didn't take tons of photos, although I would have loved to. Too much eye candy, you know?

Here's my view of Houston from the cab on our way from the airport.

My favorite thing at the hotel....well, one of 3 favorite things -- the awesome pancake maker machine at breakfast, the hot tub/spa after a long day running aorund Market, and cookies and milk at 4 pm every day.

Ollie posing next to my book, I Love Precut Quilts!, at C&T's booth!

Favorite restaurant in Houston!!!!!

I made 4 quilt samples for Camelot Fabrics.  Aren't the displays sew sew sweet???

I did a couple of free motion quilting demos at the Enmart booth -- have you tried their Ultra Iris thread yet?????

I made a video (or 2) to promote my book with C&T, too.  (Sorry, no photos, but I'll post the link as soon as I have it.)

One of the most important things that I learned at Market was how to use Instragram from my friend and traveling pal, Sondra.  THANK YOU, SONDRA!   So, if you're on Instragram, please follow me @tricia.maloney.

After Market, I couldn't wait to get home and back into my studio.  Time to quilt!
